Zoom Whitening

Zoom Whitening

Your natural beauty begins with a confident smile.

Zoom Whitening

A Brighter Smile in Just One Hour

Over time, teeth naturally darken due to aging, dietary habits like coffee and wine, and lifestyle factors. Unlock the full brilliance of your smile with Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed, the #1 requested professional whitening brand. Unlike over-the-counter strips or gels that can take weeks to show minimal results, our professional system tackles deep-set stains that brushing alone simply cannot remove.

Our in-office treatment uses advanced LED technology to accelerate the whitening process safely and effectively. In just a single one-hour appointment, we can brighten your teeth by up to eight shades. The process is carefully monitored to minimize sensitivity, giving you immediate, stunning results that are perfect for a wedding, a big interview, or simply a fresh new look.

Is It Right for You

Who Zoom Teeth Whitening Suits, and Who It Does Not

In-office whitening works best on extrinsic stains, the yellow or brown discoloration that builds up on enamel from tea, coffee, tobacco and pigmented foods, and on the gradual yellowing that comes with age. It is a good fit for adults with healthy teeth and gums who want a noticeably lighter shade in a single visit.

It is not always the right first step. Professional whitening is generally not recommended for:

  • Teenagers and children, whose teeth are still developing
  • Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Teeth with untreated decay, cracks or active gum disease, which should be treated first
  • People with a known allergy to peroxide whitening ingredients

Intrinsic discoloration, which sits inside the tooth (for example from fluorosis, certain antibiotics or a tooth that has died after an injury), may respond only partly to surface whitening. In those cases bonding, veneers or internal bleaching of a root-treated tooth can be more predictable, and the dentist will explain the options.

Step by Step

What Happens During Your Whitening Appointment

  1. Check-up and shade record: The dentist examines your teeth and gums, notes existing fillings or crowns, and records your starting shade so the change can be measured.
  2. Cleaning: Plaque and surface deposits are removed so the gel can contact the enamel evenly.
  3. Protecting soft tissue: A cheek retractor keeps lips clear and a protective barrier is painted over the gums. No injection is needed; staying un-numbed means you can say straight away if you feel any gum stinging.
  4. Gel and light cycles: A hydrogen peroxide gel is applied and activated with the Zoom LED lamp in several timed cycles, with the gel refreshed between them.
  5. Finishing: The gel is removed, the new shade is compared with the starting record, and a desensitizing product may be applied.

Everything is done in one visit. Research on whether the light itself adds to the whitening effect is mixed; the peroxide gel does most of the work, and the light is part of the system’s protocol.

Aftercare

The First 48 Hours After Whitening

Temporary sensitivity to cold or sweet drinks is the most common side effect of peroxide whitening. Mild gum soreness or small white patches where gel touched the gum can also appear and usually fade on their own. A toothpaste for sensitive teeth and avoiding very cold drinks for a day or two help most people.

Because freshly whitened enamel picks up color easily at first, it is sensible to limit coffee, tea, cola, red sauces and smoking for the first two days. Choose lighter foods and drink dark beverages through a straw if you do have them.

Contact the clinic if sensitivity is severe, lasts beyond a few days, or is confined to one tooth, as that can point to a crack or cavity that needs checking.

Results and Planning

What Affects Your Result and How Long It Lasts

No two whitening results are identical. The factors that shape your plan include:

  • The type of stain: surface stains usually lighten more readily than deep, gray or banded discoloration
  • Your starting shade and enamel thickness
  • Crowns, veneers and tooth-colored fillings on visible teeth, which do not change color and may need replacing afterward to match
  • Any treatment needed beforehand, such as a scale and polish or fillings
  • Whether take-home trays are added for top-up sessions

Whitening is not permanent. How long the result lasts depends largely on diet, smoking and how often you have professional cleanings. Many people use occasional at-home top-ups to maintain the shade.

Compare Options

In-Office Whitening Versus Dentist-Supplied Home Trays

The main alternative is a home kit with custom-made trays and a lower-strength gel, worn daily over a few weeks. Home trays are gentler per session and suit people who prefer a gradual change; the in-chair Zoom treatment suits those who want a visible difference in one appointment. Some patients combine both. Over-the-counter and salon whitening are not supervised by a dentist, and products sold outside dental settings may work less well or irritate the gums.

General & Preventive Dentistry

Other Treatments We Offer

Oral Examinations & Screenings

Prevention is always better than cure, and a comprehensive oral examination is the most effective tool we have to protect your smile.

Digital X-rays & Diagnostics

Many dental issues, such as bone loss, cysts, or decay between teeth, hide below the surface where the naked eye cannot see.

Tooth Extractions

Our primary goal is always to preserve your natural teeth, but there are times when an extraction is the healthiest choice-whether due to severe damage, advanced infection, or crowding.

Difficult Tooth Removal

While our primary goal is always to save teeth, there are times when removal is necessary for your health, such as with impacted wisdom teeth or severely broken roots.

Tooth Colour Fillings

Cavities weaken the structural integrity of a tooth, but treating them shouldn’t mean compromising your smile’s appearance.

Crowns & Bridges

When a tooth is severely damaged or weakened by a large filling, a simple repair isn’t enough to withstand chewing forces.

Dentures

Losing multiple teeth can have a profound impact on your ability to eat, speak clearly, and feel confident in social situations.

Fluoride & Sealants

Your tooth enamel is the hardest substance in your body, but it faces daily attacks from acids in your food and bacteria in your mouth.

Mouthguards & Nightguards

Teeth are incredibly strong, but they are not indestructible. Many people unknowingly grind or clench their teeth while sleeping (bruxism), leading to worn enamel, sensitive teeth, and chronic jaw headaches.

Bonding

Sometimes, a minor imperfection—like a small chip, a stubborn stain, or a slight gap between teeth—is all that stands between you and a perfect smile.

Teeth Cleaning

Even with diligent daily brushing and flossing, plaque can harden into tartar (calculus) in hard-to-reach areas, becoming impossible to remove at home.
